Kulmbach war bis ins 16. Jahrhundert hinein die Residenz der Hohenzollern von
Brandenburg-Kulmbach bzw. später Brandenburg-Bayreuth. Die Plassenburg, eine
der größten Renaissance-Burgen in Deutschland, überragt die Stadt.

Sights in Germany - Until 1604 Kulmbach was the residence of the Hohenzollern of
Brandenburg-Kulmbach and later of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. The Plassenburg,
located above the town, is one of the biggest Renaissance castles in Germany,
dominating the townscape of Kulmbach.
